Too exquisite for this world of ours.
The joy I get from these six Suiten played by Gould is beyond words; always perfect. After half a century hearing them, this is something ! Other players are very good indeed, but not a single one achieves this same magic.
Santa hildegard adalah santa pelindungku.makanya saya diberi nama hilde.sya ingin sekali mengunjungi Jerman tempat kapelnya..suatu saat nya nanti...
Wir glauben heute, wir seien weiter als die Menschen damals . Es war genau umgekehrt.
Absolutely beautiful!
Thank you for all
Comparing all the preludes in the English Suite, I think the fifth prelude is the best written. Some people try to point out the recordings by Landowska and Kirkpatrick as examples of great performances of the past. It is possible to find many merits and charms in them. However, her performance does not give sufficient praise to the ability of Bach's composers. His performance also hides his ability on the harpsichord. In particular, I am very dissatisfied with the fact that neither of them are able to fully express the interesting rhythms of Bach's works. I do not intend to look for the time to listen to those recordings. Gould's performance brings out a considerable part of the brilliance of his compositional technique and the interesting rhythms. Gould's discoveries are utilized in the performances and recordings of today's pianists, regardless of who they are. I cannot help but hear it that way in my ears.
Thank you for all

Listening to Hildegard sends me back to a medieval chapel where I sit in silent spiritual meditation. All my worries and problems are vanished.
healing music for the blood disorders! Purification of the blood!

As a music lover, I enjoy comparing styles of performers interpreting the classics. With this Bach work in mind, When I was younger, Jasha Heitfitz hit it out of the park - eye-popping virtuoso brilliance! Still magical. Then I listened to Lara St James go-round. She uses a flat intonation observing early music styles, while being more distantly mixed recording. Very different, very opposite to Heifetz. And therefore quite interesting - but neither seductive or thrilling. Then, as planned I’m listening to Hillary Hahn, above. She employs a fast but gentle vibrato, with phrasing revealing a richness not found in the previous performances. I had expected this living star to amaze me. And she does! With a preternatural maturity, no less. Call me overwhelmed and moved to tears. I’m going to indulge a lot of Hillary playing Bach from now on. And embrace the depths and heights of musical majesty I find.

Non esiste un interpretazione migliore di questa. Gould riesce a dare una contemplativa continuità estatica.

Wondering why Gould never finished recording AoF on the organ? It's because music critics hated it. Here is one example: "Gould’s approach seems downright unmusical, and the image it evokes for me is of the trained seal who beeps out God Save the Queen on a set of car horns." These reviews angered Gould so much, he never recorded on the organ again. Which is a travesty, because any organist (including me) will tell you this recording is AMAZING.
Horrible ads....
Schindler list
did any of the other "greats" have the balls to try an entirely different instrument for a seminal work such as this? Gould was a giant. One can argue about this or that greatest pianist, but none of the others brought an entire GENRE of music into the piano repertoire simply by force of talent.. Now we have the likes of Trifonov playing 1080 and Langlang doing the Goldbergs. These works would not have been known or played without Gould smashing through the closedminded orthodoxy of classical piano. And, sure those others interpret everything it seems through a "romanticist" lens - the piano as we know it literally is a romantic era instrument - but at the same time there is life beyond Chopin, ffs
and this was panned by the critics? idiots. now the only chances pianists take are like what Lang Lang does
yeah, critics are pretty much useless at that point
Just listened to my favorite gigue twice.
The gigue that I adore particularlly starts at 8:30.
